The 7 Ones Are<\/h1>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

The Bible is the all-sufficient directive to lead men and women to God. Our goal is to follow the Scriptures without adding to them or taking away from them. Ephesians 4:4-7<\/em><\/span><\/a> lists seven grand themes which we see as essential Christian beliefs:<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

1. One BODY<\/strong>: The one body is a collective term for all people who have been saved by God\u2019s grace through Christ\u2019s blood. Ephesians 5:23<\/span><\/a>; Colossians 1:24<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/p>

2. One SPIRIT<\/strong>: Romans 8:9-11<\/em><\/span><\/a> says that God\u2019s Spirit lives within everyone who belongs to God. \u00a0Without this indwelling presence, a person is still outside of the \u201cone body.\u201d<\/p>

3. One HOPE<\/strong>: This hope is the assurance that the promises of God are sure and true. Eternal life, forgiveness of sins, and transformational living are all God-given promises made possible by \u201cChrist in you, the hope of glory.\u201d<\/em> Colossians 1:27<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/p>

4. One LORD<\/strong>: Jesus the Christ is the fulfillment of all Scripture John 5:39<\/em><\/span><\/a>; He is the perfect sacrifice for each person\u2019s sin John 1:29<\/em><\/span><\/a>; He is our mediator with God 1 John 2:1<\/em><\/span><\/a>; He is Lord Romans 10:9<\/em><\/span><\/a>; He is the only way to God John 14:6<\/em><\/span><\/a>; He has been given all authority by God the Father Matthew 28:18<\/em><\/span><\/a>.<\/p>

5. One FAITH<\/strong>: Righteousness (right standing) in the eyes of God comes from a professed faith in the Gospel of Christ Romans 1:16-18<\/em><\/span><\/a>. Faith is perfected and evidenced in one\u2019s submissive obedience to Christ James 2:14-26<\/em><\/span><\/a>. \u201cFor we are God\u2019s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do\u201d Ephesians 2:10<\/span><\/a>.<\/em><\/p>

6. One BAPTISM<\/strong>: Baptism is a re-enactment of the Gospel (good news; Romans 6:3<\/em><\/span><\/a>). It is not an action that obligates God to save a person (i.e., it\u2019s not a good work that earns our way into heaven), but is the only way one can put on Christ (Galatians 3:27<\/span><\/a>)<\/em>, enter God\u2019s kingdom (John 3:5<\/span><\/a>)<\/em>, and receive the Holy Spirit and be forgiven of sins (Acts 2:38<\/span><\/a>)<\/em>. Baptism is the submissive faith-response of anyone to God\u2019s offer of salvation \u201cby grace through faith\u201d. Ephesians 2:8<\/span><\/a>; Acts 6:7<\/span><\/a>; 2 Thessalonians 1:5-8<\/span><\/a><\/em><\/p>

7. One GOD<\/strong> and FATHER<\/strong> of all, who is \u201cover all, and through, and in all.\u201d<\/em> God has no equal in heaven or earth (Isaiah 40:18-28<\/span><\/a>; 43:10<\/span><\/a>; 44:6-8<\/span><\/a>)<\/em>. He is awesome, worthy, and beyond comprehension. We serve Him, we draw near to Him and He draws near to us. James 4:8<\/em><\/span><\/a><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
